Authenticity of the Holy Shroud

A Witness to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

The Shroud of Turin is a linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have suffered physical trauma consistent with crucifixion. It is kept in the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy.

New scientific techniques — including multi-parametric mechanical testing — have dated the Shroud to the 1st century AD, consistent with the death and burial of Jesus Christ.

The blood stains, pollen evidence, coin imprints, and the three-dimensional image encoded in the cloth all point to an origin in 1st-century Jerusalem.
